The first Facebook Boost event for the Armed Forces Community took place last week and we were part of it!
It was opened with a personal message from Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, pledging Facebook’s support for the Armed Forces Community.
Facebook then signed of the Armed Forces Covenant with representatives from the MOD.
This was followed by a series of key speakers who inspired the audience to think in different ways and use their networks as effectively as possible.
These included included, Simon Harmer of Blown Away, Scott Johnson of Veteran Owned UK, Jerry Cann and Simon Lume of Contact Coffee and Brian Woods, author of Double Crossed. Nick was also part of this panel.
He then joined Chairman of Heropreneurs, Peter Mountford, on stage for a fireside chat about the Heropreneurs Mentoring Programme and how it has helped Hidden Valley succeed.
It was a real honour for us to have been asked to speak at the event and we are grateful for everyone in organising it.
Heropreneurs is a charity which works exclusively to help former members of the Armed Forces, and their spouses, to fulfil their potential to set up and run their own businesses. More details can be found on their website:
